I went out to strip a few TV’s down for the high voltage wire and ferrite cores. I came home with more than I had planned!
Ten stripped TV’s, a starship rodin coil winding jig base, two 2KVDC power supplies, a variable 2KV high frequency power supply, a microwave and a UPS with some big high voltage capacitors and a rechargeable battery bank are just some of the things I came home with.
The video includes a quick demo of a salvaged AC motor and a high voltage power supply using a single electrode arrangement.
Its always good when you find some cool stuff for your experiments just sitting on the side of the road, waiting to be salvaged. The trick is knowing what to look out for and the rest is all luck!
It took me about three hours to collect all this stuff, from when I left home to when I got back. Not bad for just a few hours work. Now I just need to strip it all down and get back to work on some experiments!
