The PRO-LIFT Model B1230 (patent pending) is a dual-piece, battery operated, lifting and transport system that allows HVAC units to be easily moved on a rooftop. Each side of the dolly has a large pneumatic main tire, plus spring-loaded front and rear castors with a zero-turning radius that make it easy to roll a unit weighing 1,500 pounds over an uneven surface. Nothing extends underneath the A/C unit, so the unit can be placed directly on the roof curb. The Pro-Lift B1230 saves on labor and crane costs. It can also solve crane equipment or helicopter scheduling difficulties. The PRO-LIFT was the recipient of the ACHR News Dealer Design Award.

    Testimonial From an HVAC Contractor

“We used a set of prolifts for a project that originally was set up to use a helicopter, because of the reach. With using the PRO-LIFT, we managed to set all the equipment for this project with a little boom truck and transporting the equipment across the roof to the curbs. In this case, we were able to cut cost on the expense of a helicopter. We also cut our labor size from 8-men for a helicopter lift to four men. As a side note, we did not have to have the other tradesmen working on the project to vacate the building while using a helicopter. With the money we saved on this project alone we now have purchased another set of PRO-LIFTs…It is my opinion if you are a HVAC contractor, you really need to have a set of PRO-LIFTs.”

technically you are not supposed to run the RC-1 channel parallel with anything, but I did at the soffit abutment for about 14 inches or so…outside of that it helps reduce sound transmission by eliminating the surface area that sound will resonate thru (the joist/truss above). The soffit is for breaking up the ceiling height change from kitchen to living room and to allow me to run some LED light strips maybe, mostly for a little bling and a place to put some antiques or pictures or what evers……ceilings in the actual kitchen, bath and master bedroom are done with drywall grid which will as well help with sound transmission from above due to the supports are the only area of attachment to above rather than having gypsum directly applied to the floor joists(truss) above. I stated 1 & 1/4 as I was thinking of the commercial light guage studs this stuff is usually applied to, but with the wood, transmission area is approximate at 1/2″ x 1 & 1/2″…also by me doing this I was able to get back to a more appropriate 16″ on center for ceilings which will eliminate potential long term sagging of the gypsum as I will be using 1/2″ on the ceilings/lid.
