6063 is an aluminum alloy, with magnesium and silicon as the alloying elements. It has generally good mechanical properties and is heat treatable and weldable. It is similar to the British aluminum alloy HE9.
This series aluminum sheet provided includes 6061 and 6082 series. More specifically, the 6061 series aluminum sheet is the representative product among this series.
The main ingredient of this series aluminum sheet includes magnesium and silicium elements. It has the features of both 4000 and 5000 series.

Shooting the Finished Bow- http://youtu.be/LDkrKNLt5Ws
This bow is a slightly different take on the flattened horse bow with wood siyahs that we built here : http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD816DB6470FEE164&feature=view_all
The main difference is that the siyah is glued or laminated into the PVC pipe at the end, so that the back and belly of the siyah have a layer of PVC over them. This allows for a more seamless transition from limb to siyah and gives the impression of a fully laminated bow. The same technique can be used on larger, heavier bows as well. It’s just as strong if not stronger than simply driving the end of a siyah into the pipe or lashing a siyah onto the surface of the pipe.
The siyahs on this bow are maple, though any dense hardwood can be used. There is a basic template for the siyahs here: http://backyardbowyer.com/2012/12/laminated-siyah-core-template/ As long as the back and belly are left flat for laminating, really any design can be used. It’s a good place to go crazy with designs. This is also a good way to make the PVC on a bow flat for laminating string bridges or tip overlays.
The bow was finished with a faux snakeskin pattern done with spray paint. The method I used is pretty much the same as this video: http://youtu.be/S2d_z2OWEs4 I just used the same paint for the base coat and top coats. This gives a very subtle raised look, the effect coming from the layers of paint rather than just contrasting color. The stripes were done using masking tape over the net for clean lines.
Thanks for watching and enjoy!

3/4″ Schedule 40 PVC pipe, 49 inches long (1.05in outer diameter, 0.12in thick walls; 26mm outer diameter, 3mm thick walls)
The heating trough is made of a non-conductive base like cardboard or wood shaped like a gutter or round tube, covered in a reflective material like aluminum foil or flashing.

Electromagnetic radiation is all around us. It’s invisible and is in microwaves ovens, WiFi routers, cell phones, smart meters and even in the FM and AM radio waves that pump music through our radios. But sometimes, this radiation is undesirable and downright disruptive. That’s where the Router Guard Faraday cage comes in.
The WiFi Router Guard is what’s called a “Faraday” cage in electrical terms. A Faraday cage is a metal enclosure formed by conductive material or by a mesh of such material. Such an enclosure blocks external static and non-static electric fields by channeling electricity through the mesh, providing constant voltage on all sides of the enclosure. Since the difference in voltage is the measure of electrical potential, no current flows through the space. Faraday cages are named after the English scientist Michael Faraday, who invented them in 1836. A Faraday cage operates because an external static electrical field causes the electrical charges within the cage’s conducting material to be distributed such that they cancel the field’s effect in the cage’s interior. This phenomenon is used, for example, to protect electronic equipment from lightning strikes and electrostatic discharges.
Faraday cages cannot block static or low frequency magnetic fields, such as the Earth’s magnetic field (a compass will still work inside). To a large degree, though, they shield the interior from external electromagnetic radiation if the conductor is thick enough and any holes are significantly smaller than the wavelength of the radiation. For example, certain computer forensic test procedures of electronic systems that require an environmental free of electromagnetic interference can be carried out within a screened room. These rooms are spaces that are completely enclosed by one of more layers of a fine metal mesh or perforated sheet metal. The metal layers are grounded to dissipate any electric currents generated from external or internal electromagnetic fields, and thus they block a large amount of the electromagnetic interference.
