  • Trunk Installation Roketa 250 54B
Installation of the large trunk on the Roketa liquid cooled 250 cc 54B motor scooter is pretty straight forward. I couldn’t find any instructions on the web so I had to wing it. The metal rack that the trunk bolts to is mounted sideways with four threaded bolts that’s supplied with the trunk. The rack attaches to the rear passenger grab rail thru two pre drilled bolt holes nearest the seat and the other two bolts are inserted thru two slots and held in place with the extra metal bar from underneath the hand rail. The two rubber sections are placed on the bolts first then slipped down thru the grab bar. Just a note here, the two bolts that secure the rack nearest the back of the scooter are not long enough because of the added metal mounting bar. I had to use two bolts that I saved from the metal packing frame.
The trunk mounts to the rack with four bolts and isn’t much of a project at all. There is plenty of storage inside for my helmet, rain gear and a few extra’s. It looks great with it all put together. You may have noticed that I changed out the plain aluminum floor boards with custom manufactured aluminum diamond plate . I think they add a bit to the over-all look of the scooter and they should also help keep the feet firmly planted when that unexpected rain storm appears.
One last thing regarding the trunk. When I fired up the scooter, there was quite a bit of vibration coming from the engine, especially until it warmed up some. The vibration caused the trunk to rattle quite a bit. I think I will add two short sections of narrow aluminum flat stock inside the trunk. By spanning between the two sets of bolts, it should help eliminate the rattling. The flat bar stock is available from most hardware store for a few dollars. Well the installation is finally complete and if we ever get rid of all this snow here in the Carolina’s, I might take a run to the coast for some swim time. : )
