when cleaning the interior, you want to wash your inside windows last. a better way to do a ” make do ” body work job is to get a wire feed welder that plugs into a standard wall outlet. then get some sheet metal from scrap or look in the phone book and patch it up. just taking a wood chisel and scrapping off all the rust and loose paint makes a big improvement
-used aluminum tape to cover rust holes because its the stickiest and most rigid. probably makes your rust holes rust faster
-i soak my rubber interior mat with wd40 after it had been vacuumed
-tailgate rust was removed with an electric jigsaw. if the blade is too long, break it to the right length and trim the end on the grinder to fit into the jigsaw
-when i applied the body filler, i taped off the area so i didnt get bondo all over the place. just used paper tape. take the tape off carefully after the bondo has been applied. i also put tape down around the filler when i sanded to have minimal sanding marks on the paint.
-mix small batches of body filler, so you can work slower and have less waste
-used a 5” round sanding pad that slides into an electric drill and coarse sandpaper. this takes the filler down fast and easy.
-drivers floor was rusted thru. didnt fix, but fiberglass mat and fiberglass was on the list. if you can get your floor mat up, just putting down some metal plate will work if theres anything left
-pint of paint was enough to put 2 coats on everything. i guess i spent $20 on this, i had alot laying around that i used
-1988 Isuzu pickup, never knew the model name or engine size. frame was solid, truck drove like brand new. got good gas mileage and really fun to drive. decided to keep my 4×4 for the winter driving
In 2007, The LEGO Group discontinued its 9v trains, and along with it, the 9v track. The new track no longer has the metal strips needed to carry the electric current to power the 9v motor, rendering them useless with the new track. In this video, I convert a LEGO RC train track into a 9V train track. This is done with Copper Foil Tape. It is a simple process and allows for use of your 9v powered LEGO trains to run on the newer track. This is a much cheaper alternative to purchasing the discontinued track at a very high premium.
